T-110 / Data Communications Software Research Seminar was held 6.3.2012 this spring in the TUAS building, hall TU3 and the restaurant Ranta. The whole day seminar had short presentations explaining the work done in the projects in the Data Communications Software Research Group. Lic. Sc. (Tech.) Jan Lönnberg will defend his dissertation “Understanding and Debugging Concurrent Programs through Visualisation” on March 16th, 2012 at 12 o’ clock noon in the lecture hall T2 (address: Konemiehentie 2, Espoo). The thesis describes the development of a new visualisation tool for concurrent programs. The purpose of the tool is to help students in particular to understand what happens in a concurrent program and fix defects in the program. The tool is based on a study of how students understand concurrent programming and the defects in their concurrent programs.
