The CSE department provides three international Master's Programmes and in addition three majors in the new EIT ICT Labs Master's School for both foreign and domestic students with Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. In these intensive, two-year programmes studying takes place in an international environment in Finland and/or abroad.

 

EIT ICT Labs Master School

The EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology - offers two-year Master's programmes, in which you can choose two universities in two different European countries. You can build a curriculum based on your skills and interests. The EIT ICT Labs Master School offers double degrees, which combine technical competence with a set of skills in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. You get an excellent theoretical education, as well as an opportunity to work with European top research institutes and leading business partners. The CSE department provides three different majors for the EIT ICT Labs Master School: Embedded Systems, Human Computer Interaction Design and Service Design and Engineering. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2013.

 

NordSecMob - Erasmus Mundus Master's Programme in Security and Mobile Computing

The Erasmus Mundus NordSecMob programme offers a highly competitive study environment for motivated studnets from around the world. During the two-year time you will study at two top-quality technical universities of the Northern Europe: Aalto (Finland), KTH (Sweden), DTU (Denmark), NTNU (Norway) and UT (Estonia). European students can apply for a scholarship of 20 000 e for two years and non-Europeans can apply for a scholarship of 48 000 e for two years. the NordSecMob curriculum covers a broad range of engineering and theoretical topics giving the students a solid understanding of fundamental mobile computing technologies and an opportunity to choose their own focus areas. the technical basis of the programme consists of the current and future Internet and wireless network technologies, mobile devices and general software negineering skills. The subject areas include key architectural and management issues in future online services such as mobility, quality of service, security, usability, charging and business models, as well as tools for safe software development, as well as formal and mathematical validation and analysis. Throughout the programme, special attention is paid to information security.

 

Mobile Computing - Services and Security Master's Programme

In the Mobile Computing - Services and Security Master's Programme you can learn the latest technology in Internet services and applications, cloud computing, mobile and wireless networks, future network architectures, energy-efficient communication, along with information and security and privacy. You will study as part of a motivated international group of students and will have industry contacts already during the studies. Dual degree and mobility to partner universities in Spain or Portugal is optional. The programme has a tuition fee, but you can apply for a scholarship. 

 

SDE - Master's Programme in Service Design and Engineering

The world is moving towards a service company. In order succeed, established companies must provide new and innovative services to an increasingly demanding and international customer base. Start-ups and their business models are increasingly based on Internet and web-based services. The SDE programme is an intensive, two-year deep-dive into this dynamic world of digital services. The programme has a diverse intake profile resulting in a very international and multi-talented student base. The curriculum favors modern learning methods including lots of teamwork. A big part of the SDE experience is the co-operation within the programme. Students even engage in projects with high profile Finnish companies and organizations.

Participants in the programme prepare themselves for careers in innovating, implementing and managing digital services. The programme spans the full service lifecycle from concept to operation. At the core of the programme is IT knowledge and the skills needed for world-class service development. On top of the IT foundation, the programme offers unique opportunities for learning business and entrepreneurial skills.
