Antti Kantee will defend the dissertation “Flexible Operating System Internals: The Design and Implementation of the Anykernel and Rump Kernels” on 7 December 2012 in lecture hall T1, Konemiehentie 2, Espoo at 12:00. Miika Komu will defend the dissertation “A Consolidated Namespace for Network Applications, Developers, Administrators and Users” on 7 December 2012 in lecture hall T2, Konemiehentie 2, Espoo. The dissertation investigates a number of different problems for the mobile use of Internet, and compares a number of promising solutions. One of the solutions is chosen for empirical experimentation, and it is improved in order to make it more suitable for network application developers, administrators and end-users.
