The maturity essay demonstrates mastery of the thesis subject and language skills (Finnish or Swedish). If you have demonstrated language skills already for the Bachelor’s degree or other university degree, you do not have to demonstrate them in a maturity test for the higher university degree. In case you have been educated in language other than Finnish or Swedish or have been educated abroad, you do not have to demonstrate language skills in Finnish or Swedish, only mastery of the thesis subject.”
